Summary
Follow the steps outlined below to modify the word quote template that is generated from the Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook Client. (Microsoft CRM Versions 3.0 and 1.2)

1) Open Microsoft Word 2) Create a new document if one is not created when word opens 3) Go Tools -> Letters and Mailings -> Mail Merge 4) The Mail Merge Tool Bar Wizard will appear inside of Microsoft Word just to the right of your blank document 5) Make sure that the Letters option is selected and click the 'Next: Starting document' link label at the bottom of the Mail Merge Tool Bar Wizard 6) Change the default selection from 'Use the current document' to 'Start from a template' 7) The 'Select Template' link label will appear, click on it 8) The select template window will open, select the mail merge tab and scroll to the bottom of the window to select the 'Quote.dot' file (if this file does not appear then you either do not have the client for Outlook installed, or it has been installed improperly, or this is not the main outlook integration client) 9) If only the line items appear, press ALT-F9 to reveal the hidden formating 10) Make the necessary changes to the template 11) Click the save as button 12) Change the 'Save as type' drop down from 'Word Document (*.doc)' to 'Document Template (*.dot)' 13) Save to the mail merge folder that appears in this screen
